About Troop 1

Troop 1 of Northborough is a Scouting America troop serving youth in Northborough, Massachusetts and the surrounding towns. Scouting builds character, leadership, and a love of the outdoors — our Scouts plan and lead their own adventures, with adult leaders there to guide them and keep things safe.

What we do

Throughout the year our Scouts take part in:

• Campouts — hiking, backpacking, winter camping, and weekend outings.
• Service projects — giving back to the Northborough community.
• High-adventure trips — bigger expeditions for older Scouts.
• Advancement — earning merit badges and ranks on the trail to Eagle.

When we meet

We meet on Tuesday evenings during the school year in Northborough. Meetings pause for school vacation weeks, holidays, and the summer. New families are welcome to visit — email us and we’ll share the time and location and let you know what to expect on your first night.

Joining

We welcome new Scouts and families year-round. Head to the Join Us section on our home page to start a Scouting America application, or just reach out by email — there’s no obligation to join after a first visit.

Our history

Scouting in Northborough goes back more than a century — Troop 1’s roots reach to the earliest days of the Boy Scouts in town, around 1916–1920. Read more on our history page.
